How, and when, did you start getting interested in fashion?
..It just turned out that way you know. I was a creative kid, so I’ve always been interested.
You dress so wonderfully now, how was your style when you were younger…lets say high school?
Uhm..I don’t remember that much, (and I don’t think I want to :p) but yeah – a lot of colours, and I liked it cute. Which.. I don’t do anymore.

How did you come up with the name for your blog? My vietnamese name is Van, so I googled it and found vanilla. Liked it, but it was so short, so then I just came up with vanillascented.
That was a loong time ago. Not sure what I think about it now.

Do you often meet readers? Hehe..Yeah. Kinda weird/like, I don’t want to be recognized – but you guys are usually really cute, so it’s ok :)
Do you follow a lot of reader’s blogs? I stop by every now and then.

I don’t know about up and coming, because their blog isn’t that mainstream (which is a really good thing) and I don’t think their goal is to be big you know.

Where have you learned to draw?
Natural skill
… and sew?
I started sewing for fun when I was 13 or something, so I learned all those basic stuff by myself. Later I’ve learned more from books and people I know.
Where do you buy your fabric? Ususally at a place called rainbow. It’s ok. There’s not that many good fabric shops around here.
Do you make your own patterns? Yeah. I use a pattern book for instructions.

Who is your fashion icon? What inspires you?
Those who dare to be different. Doesn’t have to be trendy, or pretty – they just wear whatever they want.
Aaand they have fun with fashion.

Do you have any advice on how to get started so you can eventually have many readers?
I don’t think that should be your goal when you first start.. ‘Cause then you can just copy the most popular blogs and it wouldn’t be personal at all. Blog about whatever you want – and you’ll get readers that like the same things as you. It’s so much better, eventhough you only have like 10-100 visits a day :)
But ok, here’s a few tips anyway:
Good picture quality. Big pictures. Not too much text – but if, then keep it organized, make it easy to read. Update often. Make it personal. White background. Clean. Simple. Blog about 1 thing in one post. Variation. Comment on blogs you actually like – and don’t be like “cool shoes….visit my blog!!!”

How did you attract so many people to your blog?
Ahh. I guess people just liked what they saw, and then they spread the word.. Like, I haven’t done that much.
What intentions did you have for your blog when you first started it?
I just thought it’d be cool to have my own spot where I could gather everything I found inspiring.
..And what new intentions have you come up with over time?
I’m not trying to achieve anything (but I have, and it’s fantastic!) – I do it because I like it :)
Do you think you will ever stop blogging(when you’re 80 for example)?
I’ll probably stop blogging in a couple of years from now :) But we’ll see.

Favourites in your wardrobe
Top/Bustier: Vintage from Møller Retro.
Ring: Wolf from eBay.
Shoes: Can’t choose one pair, but the maya wedges are my favourite at the moment.
Necklaces: 1. ebay 2. market in melbourne.
Bag: from Black Lily. You’d think I’d say the wang bag – but I kinda have a love/hate relationship with it.
When it comes to other clothes.. Can’t choose. I have too much.

Which garments should you go for this spring?
I’d try finding the perfect white tanktop and denim shorts :)

If you want trend tips…: a hat with a wide brim, maxi length, think Chloé (denim on denim, earth tones, silky blouses etc), clogs, round sunglasses, field jacket, wedges, neutrals, mix patterns, draping and show some lingerie. ++
But, there’s not that many “new trends”, there’s a lot of the same things.
…Uhm, but I really think that somehow almost every style is trendy right now.
